There is a wealth of professional development resources online for free. These include conferences, podcasts, tutorials, broadcasts and more. Search Google for professional development, free, tutorial (with the subject: Excel, VoiceThread, and so on)
Have fun browsing. If you can't be there in person this might be the next best thing.

Use Twitter to hear about the latest conferences taking place around the globe. Many conference sites give free access to presentation materials, livestreamed keynotes and presentations as well posting links to archived sessions.

Many sites offer calendars you can sync with or email notifications of upcoming events.
